Color High for Olio E Osso

Project: Olio E Osso — Color High
Role: Writer
Type: Web and Social Media Content
Place: Plastic Sunshine
Olio E Osso is a renowned clean beauty brand based in Portland, Oregon. Famous for their tinted balms, coveted by makeup artists and natural beauty enthusiasts alike, Olio E Osso's products even have a celebrity following, counting Gwyneth Paltrow, Rashida Jones, and Naomi Watts among their fans.
Celebrating the debut of their high-hued Crema Lipsticks and Lucente Lip Sheens, Color High—or Colore Alto in Italian—is an interactive lookbook inspired by Olio E Osso Founder Paola LaMorticella’s origin story. Honoring the brand’s ties between Italy and the Pacific Northwest, the digital experience takes visitors on a vibrant journey through worlds of color.

Following the creative and art direction of Plastic Sunshine’s team, I dove into the conceptual themes of Italian Renaissance and high fashion, twisting the narrative that clean beauty must be defined by simple language. Poetry and embellished ingredient stories complement the whimsical, colorful photography, and motion graphics, weaving a visual experience that surprises and delights.
On the website, which was designed for both desktop and mobile, heartfelt odes introduce each lip shade. In lieu of traditional product descriptions, charming limericks enrich and enliven the journey and discovery.
To create more visibility around Color High, we orchestrated a strategic launch across Instagram and email. Sharing in tandem, Olio E Osso and Plastic Sunshine posted a curated selection of images from the project and an artfully produced series of stories.
